My brother Jordan and I visited this Ponderosa after seeing on their sign an advertisement for the dinner buffet priced at $6.99. It was not until we were in the parking lot we noticed it was for seniors. I don't like advertising that is not clear and this sign made you feel like tricked. We were there and hungry so we went in and ordered any ways. Jordan got just the buffet and I got there steak which was $10.89 only a dollar more than the buffet at $9.89. I started with a salad off the bar. There shredded cheese was so bad tasting it almost ruined my salad. This is the second time lately that have had cheap bad tasting cheese of a salad bar. Jordan got several items from the bar. Jordan comes back to the table and says can you believe this there was no fried chicken on the bar ( we talked about this for a long time because this is the south and people take pride in fried chicken down here). He ate a couple of things and left some others there. He ate mashed taters and gravy, fries, fried shrimp, fried fish and was not really that thrilled , Ice cream and lots of other sweets he liked. The only thing he did not like was hot brownie cake. I noticed in general the bar was not up to what I expect from Ponderosa. I had my steak and I have to say it was cooked to order and did taste good. I am the Atkins diet so I can't eat a lot of food with bread and potatoes. The surprise was the fried fish was much better than expected. The biggest turn off was the baked chicken on the bar. It tasted so bad we both took one bite and was done with it. One the plus side the staff was great. The guy that greeted us had a huge smile and was friendly. The waitress was friendly also and kept my glass full of water. You will find this is a huge turn off for me. If I am paying a huge price for a drink like they charge now days I want to be able to drink out of it and never have to worry about it being full. We left and we both said we would never return to that restaurant.
Later that night Jordan got horrible heart burn that keep him up all night.
